| Haywood Public Transit participated in the county and area wide emergency evacuation drill which was set up at Jonathan Creek on 4-24 & 4-25-09. This drill was a simulation of an earthquake that caused a
tunnel to collapse on I-40. Haywood Public Transit's services were needed to transport rescue workers to the scene, ambulatory passengers to Haywood Regional Hospital and rescue workers away from the scene. Transit services were available throughout the entire drill, day and night. We were proud to be a part of the LEPC team! |
